Come learn with us!
The West Gloucestershire Schools Partnership or WGSP as it more commonly known, is a strong cohesive partnership which provides support and development to all staff and governors within 33 primary schools in the Forest of Dean and surrounding areas, and includes Altus (formerly the Gloucester & Forest Alternative Provision School) and the Heart of the Forest Special School.
We are a robust partnership of schools, collaboratively working to deliver high-quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for their staff.
This initiative is aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of educators to improve teaching practices and ultimately, student outcomes.
Such partnerships typically involve:
1. Collaborative Workshops and Training Sessions:
Regularly scheduled workshops led by experienced educators or external experts focusing on various aspects of teaching and learning.
2. Peer Observation and Feedback:
Teachers observing each other's lessons and providing constructive feedback to share best practices and innovative teaching methods.
3. Subject-Specific Training:
Specialised CPD sessions for different subject areas to ensure teachers stay updated with the latest curriculum changes and teaching strategies.
4. Leadership Development Programs:
Training aimed at developing future school leaders by focusing on management skills, educational leadership, and strategic planning.
5. Networking Opportunities:
Creating forums for teachers to network, share resources, and discuss challenges and successes within their schools.
6. Online Learning Modules:
Providing access to online courses and webinars to offer flexible learning opportunities for teachers.
7. Research and Development Projects:
Encouraging teachers to engage in action research projects to investigate and improve their teaching practices based on evidence and data.
Such a partnership ensures that CPD is relevant, collaborative, and sustained, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth among educators.
This collective approach not only benefits individual teachers but also contributes to the overall improvement of educational standards within the schools involved.
